Well, I bought a bike the other day at a yardsale.  It came with almost no padding for the handlebars.  The tape on the bars was little more than slightly bumpy electric tape. 

To the bike shop I went!

The local shop, Montgomery Cyclery, had exactly what I needed.  They had a good selection of tape.  There was cork and other types of tape, but I settled on Bar Phat by Specialized.  The kit included the handlebar tape as well as gel inserts to go under the tape.  

The Phat has really helped with the bumpy parts of my commute.  Pics to come later.  Yea! for Bar Phat.
