A Blowout Day!

Ok, lets not be so dramatic.  I had a flat tire yesterday on my ride into work.  I didn't even notice the flat until I was at work and changed into work clothes.

I never did find a hole in the tire or determine how it happened.  I will work on the old tube tonight.  I will patch as necessary and it will become my spare.

Bad thing is that I didn't have a spare in the first place.  I had to travel to Reser Bicycle Outfitters in Newport to get a spare and a pump.  What am I doing riding without a pump and spare tube you ask.  I don't know.  I should have been better prepared and now I am.  About Reser, they were knowledgable and helpful in finding the right equipment.

I ended up buying a bicycle pump that does CO2 as well as being a manual pump.  Also purchased was a spare CO2 cartridge along with the new tube.

Everything went on as it should, the bike was quickly back in commission.  One note is that the bike pump must NOT be tightened too tightly.  Doing so causes the seal to be broken on the pump and the air goes out the side of the pump Yell instead of going inside the tube Laughing
